Made in Italy

The U. Nahon Museum of Italian Jewish Art transports its visitors into this flourishing world by means of the wooden furniture and ornaments, textiles, metalwork, manuscripts and marble engravings that formed the scene of everyday life for Italian Jewry.

The newly renovated Museum’s permanent exhibition MADE IN ITALY: The Material Side of Spiritual Objects displays these precious historical objects, highlighting their material history, skillful manufactory, aesthetic sense, and artistic style.

The exhibit is organized according to the objects’ materials and techniques. In the first room are shown the best and richest metal works; in the second room ancient precious textiles; in the third room are displayed wood-carved and painted wooden furnitures. A small collection of marble objects is collected in the exit hall.
